Red Shirt Leadership Programs

TEEN LEADERS PROGRAM

Express teen coaches (aka “Red Shirts”) are chosen, most often, from our very own ranks. Graduates who have enjoyed the program want to give back and be mentored as coaches. In order to be a “Red Shirt” a teenager must be in Grade 8 or higher, demonstrate leadership on and off the court, enjoy working with young players, and have a desire to continually learn as a coach and mentor.

For students in grades 9-12, this is an excellent opportunity to earn the mandatory 40 hours of community service required to graduate from all Ontario secondary schools.

Please register on the website as a Teen Leader or contact Darlene at secexpressvc@gmail.com

ADULT (RED SHIRT) LEADERS

Our teen leaders are awesome and, quite frankly, the life-blood of our program.  They are, however, teens and having a strong adult presence ensures support and success for all.

Please consider getting involved now as a "helper" at the Grassroots or House League levels.

We offer:

  • In-house and ongoing training and support
  • Financial support for coaches interested in pursuing NCCP qualifications

Requirements:

  • Police Background Check(18yrs and older)
  • Enthusiasm
  • Patience (with the kids and with yourself)
  • Enjoyment of sports (especially volleyball)

Some knowledge of volleyball is an asset but NOT a requirement

Please contact Darlene today to see how you might become a part of our team.
